Why aKIDemia Outdoor Learning Center stands out

At aKIDemia Outdoor Learning Center, we believe in the power of nature to nurture young minds. Our unique program in Knoxville, Tennessee, offers a distinctive learning experience that combines education with the great outdoors.

Our nature-based advantage

aKIDemia Outdoor Learning Center offers a unique nature-based childcare experience. We feature organic gardening, individualized care, and expansive outdoor classrooms. Children enjoy daily hikes and dedicated time in the woods, engaging in activities like bird watching, painting, navigating, fort-building, and insect-watching. Our approach is governed by principles of grace and consciousness, embedded within daily rules, and utilizes science-backed methods for self-discipline and calm. We also incorporate spiritual lessons through daily blessings and gratitude awareness, fostering a reverence for each day.

Practical information for parents

We welcome infants, toddlers, twos, threes, fours, and fives. For lunch, children should pack a meal, with weekly adventure-sized taste plant-based goodies provided as occasional snacks. Soon, we will be creating our own plant-based meals from our garden, but for now, we rely on packed lunches. We also offer an after-school program for the summer. Children need to bring an extra bundle of clothes, including socks. We also ask that parents provide rain boots or rubber boots, and if possible, rubber (weatherized) pants and jackets for playing in the rain.
